This is blog to help people fix the problems with different things in life.
I noticed on youtube you have a fix for an oralb triumph battery… our battery is fine, charges and discharges over a long period, our problem is the on/off button doesn’t seem to work any more… can you show me/us how to fix this one please?
Try replacing your switch. Search google for “smd push button switch” just make sure you get the same one..
Hi, i have the following question , i don’t know if this is the right way or place to ask something , but i take my chance lol. I bought a mac pro , second hand ,( with Lion). 2×2.66 Ghz dual core Intel Xenon. 16Gb 667 Mhz DDR2 FB Dimm. Serial n° CK7270TRUPZ Works great . But at the point where i wanted to connect a magic mouse i discovered there was no bluetooth module on board. My question is now , how can i determine what kind of bluetooth module i need for this Mac? since there are a variety of cards available . I also can’t seem to find a year of production anywhere on the computer. I hope someone can help me out on this ? If needed i can send a jpeg of the motherboard.
KInd greetings and thanks for any help
HI there Koen,
To find what year your mac was made you click on the apple icon (top left), about this mac, more info, system report and look at the Model Identifier. For example mine is a MacPro4,1.
Use this list http://www.everymac.com/systems/by_capability/mac-specs-by-machine-model-machine-id.html to find what year your Mac pro is.
When you know the year you should be able to source a BT card.
Hope this helps
Thank you , i found out it ‘s a Macpro 1,1 , so that means August 2006. Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR . Ok , hmm, it ‘s so easy to find this ,i almost am blushing i asked ….lol , anyway , thanks a lot for the help. Now comes the hard part , finding this module here in Belgium. This is a great site, found out some really helpful stuff already.
Thanks again nobbly.
Looking here http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_pro/specs/mac-pro-quad-2.66-specs.html
your model is a A1186 (EMC2113) so a quick search brings up a 820-1696-A card.
Yep , i came upon these pages yesterday as well. Great , thanks , that’s a confirmation for me that i found the right card to fit my computer. I searched around here in Belgium , but i guess i will have to buy it in America or in the UK and have it shipped.
Ow , yes , maybe one other question ….i’m not yet that far into Mac hardware , but is there any software that must be installed after the card is placed ? or will it be detected and installed automatically ?
Don’t know about software but I imagine not.
As for buying the best place would be from the UK. I live not very far from you in the north of France and I buy lots from the UK. Postage is very cheap sometimes cheaper than buying from France and takes about 5 working days.
All the best
I just bought one on Ebay UK , from an Irish seller , this is becoming an international item , lol
When the card arrives and is build in , i will post a comment , on… if …and how well it works ! I’m curious myself !!
Thanks for the advice on the oral b triumph I have used your link for the battery and fingers crossed when it finally gives up the ghost I can replace it
HI there Malcolm,
Let us all know how you get on.
All the best
I have taken my Oral B 9500 apart to check battery – now the LCD is blank. Tried charging and pressing the small button but still blank.
I’ve sent a couple of pages from the Mac Pro Early 2009 Take apart Manual that might be useful for doing the bluetooth fix
Thanks pete. I have updated my blog and added a better way to remove graphics card without removing fan..
